Dawn
Howell (BA, BEd) is an artist and educator. Dawn is committed to her
own artist's "Bold Path" and enjoys mentoring the "creative process" in
others.
Early in
her career, she worked as a costume apprentice and hat designer at Neptune
Theatre. She studied painting with New Brunswick Artists Jennifer Green, Joseph
Percival and Carole Taylor, also attending Art courses at Mount Allison and
NSCAD. Dawn taught Art in Saint John, NB schools. On returning to Nova Scotia,
she studied Traditional Chinese brush painting for six years
with Joseph Chan and David Hu.
Dawn was the manager of the Alice Works Project, a national pilot project
providing hands-on craft business experience and work skills
to women with multiple barriers to employment.
Recently
she has returned to teaching Art in the public school system.
